Concrete Pools

Gregorio Pools & Spas builds Concrete pools. Shot-crete is pneumatically applied Concrete, which can achieve strengths of 6000 to 7000 PSI (cast in place concrete is usually 3000 to 3500 PSI). Concrete's strength is the result of the dense packing of the material as it is sprayed, as well as the fact that a relatively small amount of water is required to hydrate the cement.

Concrete has been used in the construction of swimming pools for well over 2000 years. Concrete is uniquely desirable for pool construction because of its inherent strength as well as it's adaptability to unusual shapes. Concrete is particularly useful on vertical surfaces such as pool walls where extra strength is important.

Forms are installed which outline the perimeter of the pool.  Concrete pools can be built in any shape or size.

The crush stone sub-base is prepared, and the pool piping is installed and pressure tested.

A steel reinforcing grid is installed to give your pool superior strength. Also, walls where water depths are greater than 5' receive additional vertical reinforcement.

The floor of the pool is placed using ready mixed concrete. The walls, as well as any steps or bench seats, are then constructed using concrete.

This combination of Shockcrete/Concrete and steel reinforcement produces an extremely strong and durable pool shell.

The interior of the pool receives a row of 6" x 6" ceramic tile at the waterline, while the remainder of the pool walls and floor are finished with a 1/4" to 1/2" thick layer of Marblelite.

Marblelite consists of two parts crushed Georgia Marble mixed with one part of white portland cement. It is hand troweled to a smooth, yet slip resistant surface.

A properly cared for Marblelite finish does not require painting and can last for many years.

The filter system is designed to efficiently clean and purify your pool water.
